I must admit, this didn’t surprise me. Mostly because the commercials are poorly done–poorly acted, poorly conceived. That said, this says a lot about the state of true Knick fandom by contrast, and the Dolans’ absurd level of PR control.
Also, the fact that this is funny makes me sad:

Dear mb, I have a question regarding the transit violation entry. When you went to the hearing, what kind of evidence did you provide and what should I expect upon attending the hearing? I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out. Thanks!
I had no physical evidence. I recommend looking for a defect in the ticket. If you can find one–a wrong fact, a mispelling, etc– that is facially obvious, that alone may be sufficient. On top of that, before they have you tell your story (while being recorded), they will give you the option to adjourn your hearing for a month or so if you want the chance to confront your accuser, the cop who wrote you the ticket. If you have the time in a month, go ahead and adjourn it. Odds are, the cop loses interest in a month. If you show up and he does not, you win by default.
In my case, I had switched cars because an intimidating homeless guy had prompted me to move before the next station. I testified to that, and they actually made the decision to adjourn for further testimony for me. Turns out to be the best they could’ve done.
